Doing Our Best to Prevent Complications
and Manage Residents' Health
Gyeongnam Haman-gun Public Health Center is conducting a "Free Early Detection Test for Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Diseases" as part of a prevention project for cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, which are major causes of death and pose a significant disease burden in Korea.
Cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases refer to cardiovascular diseases (such as myocardial infarction), cardiac arrest, cerebrovascular diseases (such as stroke), or their preceding conditions including hypertension, diabetes, and dyslipidemia.
Haman County Health Center, Early Detection of Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Diseases and Support for Complication Examination Fees. Provided by Haman County
In the primary test, the risk of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases is assessed through examinations of blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, lifestyle habits, comorbidities, family history of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, and blood test results. High-risk individuals are supported with secondary examinations in cooperation with the Korea Health Management Association Gyeongsangnam-do Branch, including coronary artery calcium CT and arteriosclerosis tests.
Additionally, to prevent ophthalmic complications in chronic disease patients registered at the health center, agreements have been made with local clinics, ‘Haman Seongmo Eye Clinic’ and ‘Kim Eye Clinic’ located in Masan, to provide support for examination fees. For related inquiries, please contact the Haman-gun Public Health Center.
A representative of the county health center stated, “Diabetic retinopathy, a common complication of diabetes, is a very serious disease that can lead to blindness, so regular examinations are the most important for prevention,” and added, “Along with the early detection test for cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, we will do our best to manage the health of residents through active promotional activities.”
