Twice-a-Month Home Visits
Namwon City Public Health Center in Jeonbuk (Director: Han Yongjae) announced on the 20th that it will begin providing the "Visiting Rehabilitation Service" for citizens with disabilities starting this month.
The Visiting Rehabilitation Service is a program in which rehabilitation specialists (physical therapists and occupational therapists) visit the homes of citizens with disabilities or those at risk of disability who have difficulty going out, twice a month. They provide rehabilitation exercise services, joint contracture prevention education, daily living skills training, emotional support, and other rehabilitation services.

Last year, the service was provided 109 times to 15 individuals, including patients discharged from medical institutions, and referrals from towns, villages, and welfare organizations. The program identified citizens with disabilities in rehabilitation blind spots (such as those with brain lesions), selected final participants based on rehabilitation assessments and case meetings, and achieved over 90% satisfaction from service recipients.
Additionally, through the Community Rehabilitation Council, the center is strengthening the health care system for citizens with disabilities by efficiently operating local health and welfare resources and collaborating with Namwon Medical Center, Jeonbuk Disabled Health and Medical Center, Disabled Sports Association, Disabled Welfare Center, and local administrative welfare centers. The focus is on promoting customized and comprehensive rehabilitation projects tailored to different types of disabilities.
An official from the health center stated, "We will continue to do our best to provide integrated rehabilitation services to citizens with disabilities, who are a medically vulnerable population, so they can live healthy lives in their communities."
