A man in his 30s who pretended to be a customer at a jewelry store and stole a gold necklace was caught by the police.
The Jeonbuk Jeonju Deokjin Police Station announced on the 20th that they have apprehended and are investigating a man in his 30s, identified as A, on suspicion of theft for stealing a gold necklace and fleeing.
A is suspected of stealing a gold necklace worth approximately 16 million won from a jewelry store in Banwol-dong, Deokjin-gu, Jeonju City around noon on the 17th. At the time, A pretended to be a customer and said he wanted to try on the gold necklace, then took it and ran away.
After receiving the report and launching an investigation, the police urgently arrested A near his residence on the afternoon of the 19th.
A police official stated, "Considering that A fled the scene, we view the crime as serious and plan to apply for an arrest warrant."
