Throughout this month, the county is promoting proper waste disposal guidelines and conducting guidance and publicity activities around the Gochangcheon area and near the Gochang Traditional Market. Starting next month, the county plans to strengthen crackdowns on illegal waste dumping under a zero-tolerance policy and impose fines upon detection.
Previously, the county conducted a joint campaign with the Gochang-eup office and the Environmental Sanitation Division on Gochang Market Day to eradicate illegal dumping, and distributed leaflets in six languages to guide foreigners on proper waste disposal.
Go Misook, head of the Environmental Sanitation Division, said, "The participation of residents in proper disposal of household waste is essential to eradicate illegal dumping," adding, "We will continue our efforts to create a cleaner Gochangcheon through ongoing publicity and intensive crackdowns."
