Gyeonggi-do Holds 'Welcome to Gyeonggi' Event for Transferred Public Officials

Gyeonggi Province held an education and welcoming event called "Welcome to Gyeonggi" on the 19th at Dasan Hall on the 1st floor of the Suwon Gwanggyo Government Complex for 86 newly transferred (or soon-to-be transferred) public officials.

This event was planned for the first time this year to welcome the transferred public officials who will become key members in the provincial administration and to help them smoothly adapt to the organization.

The morning session included a welcome speech by Kim Seong-jung, the First Deputy Governor of Gyeonggi Province, a special lecture on major Gyeonggi provincial policies by Heo Nam-seok, Director of Policy Planning, and a special lecture on the history of Gyeonggi Province by Dr. Yoo Hyun-joo, sharing the vision, values, past, and present of Gyeonggi Province.

In the afternoon, the General Affairs Division and the Human Resources Division provided guidance on welfare, service, and personnel systems. Afterwards, a talk concert was held to facilitate communication between senior and junior public officials, with five senior public officials including Kim Sang-su, Director of the Gyeonggi Provincial Autonomous Administration Bureau, participating as panelists to answer questions from the transferred employees about life at the Gyeonggi Provincial Government.

Additionally, welcoming events continued with a performance by Bonggong-i, the Gyeonggi Province character, unfolding of the vision paper, and photo time. A "Welcome Kit" consisting of office supplies necessary for work was also provided.

Kim Seong-jung, the First Deputy Governor of Gyeonggi Province, encouraged the attendees by saying, "I support all of you who are standing at an important moment, starting a challenge in a new environment. Although it may be unfamiliar and awkward at first, both you and Gyeonggi Province will develop through the process of learning and growing from mistakes."

Gyeonggi Province plans to actively support organizational adaptation and capacity development through various policy education programs such as newcomer training, healing workshops, and communication workshops for low-tenure public officials including new hires and transferees.
