'Daejeon Hanwha Life Ballpark,' set to become Daejeon's new sports and cultural landmark, will open in March after three years of construction.

The Daejeon city government announced that the opening ceremony for 'Daejeon Hanwha Life Ballpark' will be held on March 5 at 6 p.m.

Prior to the main event, there will be a fan signing session with Hanwha Eagles players. The opening ceremony will consist of Part 1, a citizens' unity celebration concert, followed by an intermission, and Part 2, the official ceremony and congratulatory performances.

During the citizens' unity celebration concert, the Daejeon City Symphony Orchestra and Daejeon Art Philharmonic Orchestra will perform alongside world-renowned soprano Hwang Sumi and top musical actor Jung Sunghwa. During the intermission, there will be a DJ performance, laser show, and Hanwha Eagles cheerleading performance, offering the audience a unique experience.

The official ceremony will include commemorative speeches and a ribbon-cutting, followed by performances from famous singers such as Oh My Girl, V.O.S, Kim Euyeong, Choi Seongsu, and Seol Undo to celebrate the opening of the new stadium.

Citizens wishing to attend the opening ceremony can apply through Ticketlink, and a viewing fee of 2,000 won will be charged in accordance with the Public Official Election Act's donation restrictions.

The new home of the Hanwha Eagles, Daejeon Hanwha Life Ballpark, consists of two basement levels and four above-ground floors, with a seating capacity of 20,027. It is the first in Korea to feature an asymmetrical left-right ground, an 8-meter-high monster wall, and multi-level bullpens, promising even more dynamic games.

Additionally, with large-scale performance facilities and an outdoor park, the venue will serve as an open, multi-purpose cultural space for citizens to enjoy year-round.

Lee Jangwoo, Mayor of Daejeon, said, "It is very meaningful that Daejeon Hanwha Life Ballpark, born from the wishes of Daejeon citizens, will take its historic first step in time for the 2025 professional baseball season. I hope many citizens will join us for this special moment."
