[2025 Asia Fund Awards] KB Asset Management, Outstanding TDF Specialist

Best Asset Manager in the TDF Category

[2025 Asia Fund Awards] KB Asset Management, Outstanding TDF Specialist

At the 16th annual '2025 Asia Fund Awards,' KB Asset Management was selected as the Best Manager in the Target Date Fund (TDF) category.

KB Asset Management is a comprehensive asset management company boasting a solid business lineup including stocks, bonds, exchange-traded funds (ETFs), and alternative assets (real estate, infrastructure), based on collaboration with KB Financial Group, the largest financial group in Korea.

With the full implementation of the default option for retirement pensions (pre-designated management system), interest in TDF products is increasing, and the inflow of funds into KB Asset Management's TDFs stands out. Last year alone, it absorbed nearly 400 billion KRW, pushing KB Asset Management's total TDF assets under management beyond 1.6707 trillion KRW.

Among the top five asset management companies in the TDF industry, KB Asset Management was the only one to increase its market share last year. KB Asset Management's TDF market share rose by 0.9 percentage points (P) from 12.5% at the end of 2023 to 13.4%.

The one-year returns of all vintages of 'KB OnGukmin·Dynamic TDF' exceeded an average of 14%. The 'OnGukmin TDF 2055,' which has the highest equity ratio, posted a three-year return of 42.82%, the best among all TDF types. Based on three-year performance, three of the top 10 products are KB Asset Management's 'OnGukmin·Dynamic TDF.'

KB Asset Management operates two types of TDF products, 'KB OnGukmin TDF' and 'KB Dynamic TDF,' considering investors' risk preferences. 'KB OnGukmin TDF' is a passive fund with low fees and low volatility, expected to provide high compound returns over long-term investments. 'KB Dynamic TDF' is an active fund that actively responds to market volatility by investing in various assets such as real estate and commodities to adapt swiftly to changing conditions.

To broaden investors' pension product choices, the product lineup was expanded in August last year. The newly introduced 'KB OnGukmin·Dynamic TDF 2060' is a tailored product for investors targeting retirement in 2060. With more than 30 years until the target date, it is worth noting for young professionals aiming to maximize investment effects through long-term investment.

The total expense ratio ranges from 0.36% to 0.605% annually, which is relatively low. Given that TDFs are commonly used as long-term investment products in pension accounts such as retirement pensions or individual pensions, a lower total expense ratio is advantageous.
