[2025 Asia Fund Awards] Korea Investment Trust Management, a Renowned Public Fund Company Speaking Through Returns

At the 16th annual '2025 Asia Fund Awards,' Korea Investment Trust Management was selected as the Best Asset Manager in the public fund category.

Korea Investment Trust Management is a leading comprehensive asset management company in Korea, currently managing approximately KRW 70 trillion in assets. It operates almost all types of funds, including those investing in domestic and international stocks and bonds, as well as exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and target date funds (TDFs), maintaining an investment philosophy focused on long-term performance.

Since the appointment of CEO Bae Jae-gyu in 2022, Korea Investment Trust Management has concentrated on developing and managing products related to U.S. growth stocks, artificial intelligence (AI), and semiconductor companies. This is based on the analysis that the role of semiconductors in the generative AI sector is increasingly significant, and the growth of global AI and semiconductor companies is expected to continue for the foreseeable future.

The 'Korea Investment Global AI & Semiconductor TOP10' fund, launched in April 2023, focuses intensively on the top 10 leading companies driving the AI and semiconductor industries both domestically and internationally. It emphasizes two core investment strategies with high growth potential in AI and semiconductor companies: ‘synergy’ and ‘winner-takes-all.’ The fund primarily includes publicly traded companies leading the AI market, such as Nvidia, Microsoft, Apple, TSMC, Meta Platforms, and Broadcom.

To reflect the rapidly changing AI ecosystem, the fund constructs its universe using a proprietary model and selects detailed themes that consider the scale and changes in AI and semiconductor sub-industries. It evaluates market dominance and entry barriers from multiple perspectives for each theme, selecting leading companies with strong leadership in each sector for investment. The one-year returns ranged from 29.60% to 42.29%, and six-month returns ranged from 13.45% to 21.04%, outperforming the overall overseas equity fund one-year average return of 19.67% and the overseas information technology sector fund one-year average return of 23.26%. The fund series’ assets under management reached KRW 163.9 billion, growing 552.99% compared to KRW 25.1 billion at the end of 2023.

Korea Investment Trust Management also achieved notable results in the profit-differentiated public fund market. The first profit-differentiated public fund launched in 2023, 'Korea Investment Global New Growth Fund,' reached its target return of 20% in November last year and was redeemed early.

Last year, Korea Investment Trust Management launched three new profit-differentiated funds and successfully raised capital, currently managing about half of the domestic profit-differentiated public fund market.
