Lee Seong-gyu Elected as Next President of the Asian Hospital Federation
Will Lead the Asian Hospital Community from 2026 to 2027
Lee Seong-gyu, president of the Korea Hospital Association, was elected as the next president at the 2025 Asian Hospital Federation (AHF) board meeting held on the 16th in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia.

President Lee will serve as the head of the Asian hospital community for two years from 2026 to 2027. The AHF is a federation consisting of hospital associations from nine Asian countries. The current president is the head of the Malaysian Private Hospital Association.
Korea has previously had honorary presidents Han Du-jin (1997?1999), Kim Kwang-tae (2007?2009), and Kim Yoon-soo (2016?2017) serve as AHF presidents, and President Lee Seong-gyu will be the fourth to hold the position.
In his acceptance speech, President Lee said, "I am honored and feel an immense responsibility to be elected as president of the Asian Hospital Federation," adding, "I will carry out various activities to strengthen and develop the network among AHF members."
He continued, "The 2026 AHF board meeting is planned to be held in Korea during the KHC event hosted by the hospital association of that year, and we look forward to active participation from member countries."
Additionally, he urged Asian countries to show strong interest and participation as the 49th IHF (International Hospital Federation) World Hospital Congress will be held in Korea in October 2026.
