In the men's golf weekly world rankings announced on the 16th (local time), he earned 6.37 points, climbing two spots from 6th place last week. This is his personal best ranking. He earned points by winning the PGA Tour Genesis Invitational (total prize money $20 million), which concluded at the Torrey Pines South Course (par 72, 7,765 yards) in San Diego, California, USA. This is his second victory in 1 year and 3 months since the RSM Classic in November 2023. The winner's prize money is $4 million (approximately 5.8 billion KRW).


Scottie Scheffler, Xander Schauffele (both USA), and Rory McIlroy (Northern Ireland) maintained their 1st to 3rd positions. Maverick McNealy (USA), the runner-up at the Genesis Invitational, rose from 26th place last week to 14th. Among Korean players, Im Sung-jae is 22nd, Kim Joo-hyung 24th, An Byeong-hun 32nd, and Kim Si-woo is 64th. Jang Yoo-bin, who is playing in LIV Golf, is ranked 145th.
