All-Out Efforts for Strategic Budget Securing
On the 13th, Gumi City in Gyeongbuk held the '2026 National Budget Securing Strategy Meeting' chaired by Mayor Kim Jang-ho at the city hall's main conference room. About 100 participants, including heads of departments and divisions responsible for national budget projects, gathered to focus on strategies for securing new national budget projects.
At the meeting, the city reviewed the feasibility and practicality of new national budget projects for 2026 and sought additional measures to secure projects that were not reflected during the government budget proposal and National Assembly review process.
In particular, it was announced on the 17th that they checked the compliance with preliminary procedures for public contest projects, coordinated tasks requiring interdepartmental collaboration, and established joint response strategies.
Through this meeting, the city expects to secure the largest budget ever by discovering a total of 116 national budget projects worth 502.4 billion KRW.
The major national budget projects are divided into the economic, social overhead capital (SOC), and education, culture, and environment sectors.

The city plans to make an all-out effort to secure the national budget through visits to central government ministries and meetings with local members of the National Assembly.
Mayor Kim Jang-ho emphasized, “As competition for securing national budgets becomes increasingly fierce, we will definitely achieve results through differentiated strategies,” and added, “We will establish a close cooperative system with the government, National Assembly, and related institutions to realize major projects.”
