Uljin-gun, Gyeongbuk Province plans to expand the paperless contract system to eup, myeon, and business offices starting in the first half of 2025.
This is a core policy of Uljin-gun aimed at strengthening citizen-centered administration, improving administrative efficiency, and simultaneously achieving multiple benefits such as environmental protection and cost reduction.
Uljin-gun piloted the paperless contract system centered on the main office in 2024, achieving cost savings and reducing unnecessary administrative labor waste. Since its implementation in June last year, it has saved 120,240 sheets of paper across 1,503 contracts, reducing the need for contract parties to complete and submit unnecessary documents.
Additionally, each business department of Uljin-gun reduced 56,400 sheets of paper from 1,880 documents, significantly contributing to improving administrative efficiency and streamlining unnecessary procedures in the contract process.
The paperless contract system was introduced to allow public officials to escape unnecessary repetitive administrative procedures and focus more on valuable work for the citizens.
Following the main office, Uljin-gun plans to expand the paperless contract system to eup, myeon, and business offices this year, aiming to reduce costs and unnecessary administrative labor waste among public officials. The time saved from administrative tasks is expected to be used more for listening to citizens' voices and considering regional development.
In particular, paperless administration is expected to contribute to providing services that citizens can trust and feel more secure about by enhancing administrative transparency and reliability.
County Governor Son Byeong-bok stated, “The paperless contract system is not just about changing administrative procedures but is an innovative attempt to improve citizens' quality of life and increase administrative trustworthiness. All public officials will do their best to ensure that the time and resources saved in administrative work are used for each and every citizen.” He added, “We will continue to pursue relentless administrative innovation to focus more on valuable work for citizens and realize an administration where citizens become the protagonists of change.”
