On the 17th, a car and an automobile collided in the Omokgyo underpass in Yangcheon-gu, Seoul, resulting in the death of a motorcycle rider.
The Yangcheon Police Station in Seoul reported that at around 9:58 a.m. that day, an Avante vehicle entering the first lane in the Omokgyo underpass collided with a motorcycle that was changing lanes. After the collision, the Avante was pushed forward and also hit the rear of a sports utility vehicle (SUV) waiting to turn left.
The motorcycle rider, Mr. A (56), was transported to the hospital while receiving cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) but passed away. The Avante driver, Mr. B (50), who collided with the motorcycle, was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The police are investigating the cause of the accident by securing CCTV footage and vehicle black box recordings.
