Yangsan City successfully hosted six sports (bowling, baseball/softball, table tennis, hapkido, boccia for disabled athletes, and taekwondo) during the 105th National Sports Festival and the 44th National Sports Festival for the Disabled held last October, proving its capability as a host city for sports events. Building on this achievement, Yangsan will also serve as a venue for sports events in the National Youth Sports Festival, which takes place across 15 cities and counties in Gyeongnam.

In particular, Yangsan will host two sports?boccia and floorball?over four days during the Disabled Students Sports Festival. The boccia competition will be held at the Yangsan Sports Complex Gymnasium, while the floorball matches will take place at the National Sports Center. Additionally, the table tennis events for the National Youth Sports Festival will be conducted at the Yangsan Sports Complex Gymnasium over four days.

Moreover, in May, various nationwide sports events such as the triathlon at Hwangsan Park and the Presidential Cup Park Golf Tournament are scheduled, which are anticipated to contribute significantly not only to the development of local sports but also to economic revitalization and the promotion of tourism resources.

Mayor Na Dong-yeon stated, “We will do our best to ensure that Yangsan can establish itself as a sports mecca through the successful operation of the National Youth and Disabled Students Sports Festivals and hosting national competitions.”
