Signing of Business Agreement with Jirisan Macheon Agricultural Cooperative
Pilot Project for ‘Visiting Happiness Store for Remote Villages’ to Begin
Mobile Service to Provide Daily Necessities to Remote Village Residents
Hamyang County in Gyeongnam announced on the 17th that it signed a business agreement with Jirisan Macheon Agricultural Cooperative at the county office's small conference room to pilot the ‘Visiting Happiness Store for Remote Villages’ project.
The ‘Visiting Happiness Store’ pilot project aims to alleviate the inconvenience faced by residents of remote villages who have difficulty purchasing daily necessities due to population decline and aging by providing a mobile sales service for daily necessities via vehicle. The county recruited project operators in January and ultimately selected Jirisan Macheon Agricultural Cooperative as the implementing organization.
At the agreement ceremony, 12 officials including County Governor Jin Byeong-yeong, Jirisan Macheon Nonghyup Chairman Jo Won-rae, Hamyang County Village Leaders Association Chairman Park Yoon-seop, and Nonghyup Bank Hamyang Branch Manager Seo Soon-bok attended to reaffirm their commitment to cooperation.
Governor Jin said, “Due to aging, many elderly people had difficulties purchasing daily necessities, but through this agreement ceremony, we will be able to provide more comprehensive welfare benefits. We will collaborate with local organizations including Macheon Nonghyup to discover various rural economic and social services to ensure the sustainability of rural communities.”
Before the project implementation, the county and Macheon Nonghyup plan to actively reflect the results of a demand survey on what daily necessities residents want, including promotional activities, in the project operation.
