Intensified Artillery Fire on Ukraine's Eastern Front... "Even an Inch More" Yonhap News

Amid discussions of a potential ceasefire in Ukraine mentioned by U.S. President Donald Trump, Russia and Ukraine are engaged in increasingly intense battles on the eastern frontlines.

On the 14th (local time), according to Reuters, AFP, and DPA, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that its forces had captured the villages of Zelene Pole and Dachne in Donetsk.

Zelene Pole is a strategic point between Pokrovsk and Velyka Novosilka. Dachne is also located west of Kurakhove village, about 30 km south of Pokrovsk. Pokrovsk is a key transportation hub where major railways and roads intersect, serving as a supply base for Ukrainian forces. The Russian military believes that capturing Pokrovsk would facilitate their advance into northern Donetsk and has continued offensives targeting this area.

The Ukrainian Telegram channel DeepState also reported recent progress in Russian military activities near Zelene Pole and Dachne. The Ukrainian military acknowledged that the two villages were among 11 locations around Pokrovsk facing Russian offensives that evening but did not disclose whether they had fallen.

Fighting continues in the Kursk region of Russia as well. The Ukrainian General Staff stated that on the same day, the air force destroyed a Russian drone base in Kursk. According to the Ukrainian military, this base had been repeatedly launching and assembling drones used to attack Ukrainian forces.
