This business agreement was established to help the domestic chemical industry effectively respond to overseas import regulations and non-tariff barriers amid the rapidly changing international trade environment following the inauguration of the second term of the U.S. President Donald Trump administration.
According to the agreement, the Association, Kwangjang, and DKC will provide basic consulting and advice on anti-dumping, countervailing duties, and safeguard investigations in major export countries, and will operate lectures and training programs for industry stakeholders.
Um Chan-wang, Vice Chairman of the Korea Chemical Industry Association, expressed, "Through cooperation with Kwangjang and DKC, who possess expertise in international trade, we expect to minimize trade risks for member companies and domestic chemical firms and contribute to enhancing global competitiveness."
Joo Hyun-soo, partner lawyer at the law firm Kwangjang, stated, "Amid the strengthening of global protectionism and ongoing trade uncertainties, we will do our best to support trade law affairs so that the domestic chemical industry can continue to grow."
Meanwhile, the Association achieved results in the preliminary determination of the U.S. epoxy import regulation investigation by coordinating with our government to revise downward the countervailing duty de minimis margin and anti-dumping margin, and plans to further expand support for overseas trade issues through this agreement.
