The police are investigating after a two-year-old girl was found dead and decomposed in a villa in Seocheon, South Chungcheong Province.
According to the Seocheon Police Station, at around 8:25 p.m. on the 13th, a two-year-old girl was found dead in a villa located in Seocheon-eup. It was reported that the body was in an advanced state of decomposition.
The police urgently arrested the girl's parents on charges of abandoning a corpse.
According to the police, the girl had left her daycare center around July to August last year and had not been registered at any other daycare for several months. The director of the daycare she previously attended recently discovered this and reported to Seocheon County Office that "the girl's whereabouts could not be confirmed."
It is known that Seocheon County Office requested the police to determine the girl's whereabouts.
A police official stated, "When the girl was found, decomposition was so advanced that she could not be identified by appearance, so we have requested an autopsy and will investigate the parents to determine the exact cause of death."
