Yeonggwang County in Jeollanam-do announced on the 12th that it held a completion ceremony for the Bulgab Sangsa-hwa Center, which was promoted as part of the General Agricultural and Fishing Village Development Project, on the 11th.
The event was attended by Yeonggwang County Governor Jang Seil, Yeonggwang County Council Chairman Kim Kangheon, Bulgab-myeon Mayor Jang Changjong, heads of various social institutions and organizations, and local residents.
The Bulgab-myeon Basic Living Base Development Project was selected as a new project under the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs’ General Agricultural and Fishing Village Development Program in August 2018, with a total investment of 4.3 billion KRW, including approximately 2.8 billion KRW in national funding. This project, spanning six years from 2019 to 2024, includes the construction of the Bulgab Sangsa-hwa Center, the creation of the Maengjajeong Rest Area, and regional capacity-building initiatives.
The Bulgab Sangsa-hwa Center is a two-story building with a total floor area of 813.50 square meters, featuring a Sangsa-hwa classroom, Bulgab Sarangbang, and a multipurpose auditorium. The center is intended to serve as a space for all residents, hosting a variety of events, educational activities, and programs.
An official from the county stated, “The Bulgab Sangsa-hwa Center, established through the Bulgab-myeon Basic Living Base Development Project, will serve as a foundation for communication and revitalization among residents. We hope the center becomes a hub for education, events, and hobbies, thereby contributing to the improvement of residents’ quality of life.”
Meanwhile, during the center’s completion ceremony, a dialogue event between the county governor and residents for 2025 was also held.
