Support for Households Including Pregnant Women, Infants, and Children Under 18
Hwaseong City in Gyeonggi Province will begin accepting applications for the 'Agricultural Food Voucher Support Project' starting on the 17th to improve nutrition for vulnerable groups and promote the consumption of local agricultural products.
The support targets households receiving livelihood benefits with an income at or below 32% of the median income, including pregnant women, infants, and children under 18. Vouchers are provided in varying amounts depending on household size, such as 40,000 KRW per month for single-person households and 100,000 KRW per month for four-person households. The support period lasts for 10 months, from March to December.
The vouchers are provided in the form of electronic cards that can be used to purchase fresh agricultural products such as domestic vegetables, fruits, meat, grains, and tofu products. They can be used at local food direct stores and Nonghyup Hanaro Mart, among others.
Applicants can apply by visiting the local branch office or the eup/myeon administrative welfare center in their area, or online (www.foodvoucher.go.kr), or via ARS (1551-0857). For more details, inquiries can be made to Hwaseong City Hall’s Agricultural Food Distribution Division or the local branch office or eup/myeon administrative welfare center.
Kim Jeong-woo, head of Hwaseong City’s Agricultural Food Distribution Division, said, "We expect this Agricultural Food Voucher Support Project to help vulnerable groups maintain a healthy diet and contribute to promoting the consumption of local agricultural products."
