"Supporting Independent Youth to Stand Alone"... Eunpyeong-gu Collaborates with Private Companies to Launch Cafe Startup Eunpyeong-gu signed a business agreement with Ten Percent Coffee on the 11th to create a self-reliant youth cafe. Provided by Eunpyeong-gu.

The Self-Reliant Youth Cafe is being developed as part of the Gupabal Cheon Waterside Vitality Hub project, which includes the creation of a walking trail and a cafe. The cafe will be operated by self-reliant youth. Youth who have lived in child care facilities must legally leave these facilities and become independent upon turning 18; these individuals are referred to as self-reliant youth.

To this end, on the 11th, the district signed a business agreement with the franchise company Ten Percent Coffee to collaborate by receiving financial and technical support to help stabilize the youth in their early stages.

Ten Percent Coffee is conducting social contribution projects such as campaigns supporting children’s dreams in partnership with Good Neighbors and sponsoring children overseas.

According to the agreement, the district will create a space through the cafe establishment where self-reliant youth can secure stable jobs and receive practical support for independence. Ten Percent Coffee will provide financial, technical support, and education to the self-reliant youth.

Additionally, to enhance the proactive and leading qualities of the self-reliant youth, they will participate from the cafe preparation stage. Through operating the cafe, the youth will receive education and training for economic and emotional independence before entering society. The district plans to assist self-reliant youth in preparing for stable social integration.

Mayor Kim Mi-kyung said, “I am pleased to establish a foundation for the independent lives of self-reliant youth through the cafe creation and the agreement with Ten Percent Coffee,” adding, “We will continue our efforts to positively impact the futures of young people and help them successfully settle into society.”
