Achieved CDP 'Leadership A'
"Recognized for Achievements Including International Carbon Neutrality Certification"
IBK Industrial Bank announced on the 11th that it received the highest grade, 'Leadership A,' from the international carbon information assessment organization CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project).
CDP is an organization that annually requests major global companies to disclose information related to environmental issues such as climate change, forests, and water, and publishes the evaluation results. CDP evaluations are recognized as the most reliable sustainability-related indicators.
IBK Industrial Bank has set goals for 'Carbon Neutrality by 2040' and 'Carbon Neutrality of Financial Assets by 2050.' Last year, it became the first domestic policy financial institution to obtain SBTi (Science Based Targets initiative) certification related to carbon neutrality implementation.
The bank manages precise emission control by developing and operating its own integrated greenhouse gas management system, 'IBK Carbon Neutral Hub.' As a policy financial institution, it participates in various government consultative bodies to support the green transition of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and actively voices its opinions.
An IBK Industrial Bank official stated, "Receiving the CDP Leadership A is an external recognition of our efforts to implement carbon neutrality," adding, "We will faithfully fulfill our role as a catalyst so that IBK Industrial Bank and SMEs can lead the green economy society together."
In September last year, IBK Industrial Bank received the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Award in the greenhouse gas target management sector. In December last year, it was awarded the Presidential Citation for contributions to promoting eco-friendly technologies and consumption, as well as the Minister of Environment Award in the environmental information disclosure category.
