Ahn Cheol-soo: "Both Meoksanism and Jalsanism Are Merely Deceptive... No One Believes Lee Jae-myung's Words"

"I don't understand what Representative Lee means by 'fair growth'"
"Ignores calls for constitutional amendment... Unable to give up imperial presidency"

Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, gave a speech emphasizing his growth strategy called 'Jalsanism', while Ahn Cheol-soo, a member of the People Power Party, criticized it as "nothing but a case of yangduguyuk (羊頭狗肉), meaning a discrepancy between appearance and reality."

On the 11th, Ahn posted on Facebook titled 'Why it is difficult to trust Lee's Jalsanism,' writing, "In his speech, he presented 'Jalsanism,' where everyone lives well together, as a vision and mentioned growth as many as 28 times."

He continued, "Some are surprised by the rightward shift, but I am neither surprised nor afraid," pointing out, "This is not the first time Lee Jae-myung has shown 'words and actions not matching.'" He added, "Lee first introduced 'Moksanism' in July last year," emphasizing, "Since then, what Lee and the Democratic Party have shown is far from issues of livelihood or growth. Words and actions were different."

He criticized, "While pushing through the Yellow Envelope Act and the National Assembly Testimony and Appraisal Act, which seriously shrink corporate management, they opposed the Semiconductor Special Act, which the industry desperately demanded, and neglected livelihood-related bills concerning future growth," adding, "It was exactly as the saying goes: to know a politician's sincerity, look not at their words but where their feet go."

Ahn claimed that Lee was sincere only about shielding himself and political strife. He said, "Nine impeachment motions against prosecutors and other public officials and nine special prosecutor laws were passed, and for the first time in history, government budgets were even cut," emphasizing, "No one believes him when he talks about livelihood and growth, and following 'Moksanism,' 'Jalsanism' cannot escape criticism as yangduguyuk (羊頭狗肉)."

Ahn criticized that he does not understand what Lee's 'fair growth' means. He said, "If fair growth means sharing opportunities and results of growth, then that is about distribution, and I question how that can be seen as growth."

He also urged, "Rather than just copying and distorting others' past proposals, I hope he clearly presents specific policies and philosophies."

He expressed particular disappointment that although Lee spoke about restoring democracy, he did not mention constitutional amendment. He said, "The 1987 Constitution has already reached the end of its lifespan," emphasizing, "The only way to prevent repeated presidential impeachments and arrests and to establish a healthy democratic order is constitutional amendment." He added, "Despite the demands of the times, Lee Jae-myung is ignoring constitutional amendment, probably because he does not want to give up the absolute power of the imperial presidency."

Meanwhile, on the 10th, in a negotiation group leader's speech held at the National Assembly, Lee Jae-myung stated, "In response to the need for national unity, the policy focus has shifted from 'Moksanism,' which addresses people's livelihood issues, to 'Jalsanism,' a world where everyone lives well together." He emphasized, "Let's not avoid conflict but engage in dialogue and compromise to achieve a 'social grand compromise'."
