Gwangju Dong-gu (District Chief Lim Taek) announced on the 11th that it has finalized the selection of 45 houses as recipients for the pilot project supporting home repairs in low-rise residential areas, called 'The Life,' which is being carried out in the area around the Eco-Friendly Resource Circulation Center in Sansu-dong, where many old houses are concentrated.
The 'The Life' pilot project for supporting home repairs in low-rise residential areas is the first of its kind to be implemented by a local district.
In October and November last year, applications were accepted from households wishing to participate in the project, with 210 households applying. Dong-gu initially selected 74 houses based on criteria such as the degree of aging, actual period of residence, age, income level, and public interest.
Based on this, this year, home repair specialists conducted on-site inspections to evaluate the urgency of repairs and the expected improvement in residential environments, and a Residential Regeneration Committee was convened based on the evaluation results.
Through these procedures, the 45 final houses were selected, and after filing construction commencement reports, full-scale construction is scheduled to begin in March.
After the construction is completed, home repair specialists will conduct a completion inspection to assess the appropriateness of the work. In addition, a resident satisfaction survey will be conducted to analyze issues related to the home repair support project and to supplement future projects.
Lim Taek, the district chief, said, "There was fierce competition due to the strong desire of residents in old low-rise residential areas to repair their homes," and added, "We will continue our support so that more households can benefit in the future."
