A marathon event where you can run while enjoying the fantastic sunset over the beautiful West Sea will be held on April 19th at Seaside Park in Yeongjongdo, Jung-gu, Incheon.
Held as part of MBN's 30th anniversary special project, the ‘MBN Sunset Marathon in Yeongjong’ offers four courses: half marathon, 10Km, 5Km, and 3Km. Registration opens twice on February 12th (first round) and 19th (second round) through the event website, with a total of 20,000 participants accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Unlike typical marathons that start around 8 a.m., this event begins at 4 p.m., ideal for watching the sunset. The start times vary by course so that all participants can cross the finish line while greeting the spectacular sunset over the West Sea.
There are also plenty of side events. In addition to various entertainment and food options for families who come to cheer, a music festival featuring various emotional singers will be held.
Since many participants are expected, thorough eco-friendly measures to reduce carbon emissions are being implemented. To minimize plastic waste, paper-packaged water and kraft paper cups will be used. The guidebook will be replaced with a mobile leaflet, and the medals awarded to participants will be made from recycled materials. Additionally, carbon trees, devices that capture carbon from the air, will be installed.
An event official said, “This marathon, held to celebrate MBN’s 30th anniversary, is a great opportunity to create precious memories with family while enjoying the fantastic West Sea sunset, marathon, and music festival all at once. We look forward to many participants.”
