"A Heavy Sense of Responsibility...
Successfully Addressing County Affairs"
Jeong Gwangseon, the Deputy Governor of Damyang County in Jeollanam-do, has been promoted to Local Deputy Director-General (Grade 3) for the first time in Damyang County.
This promotion follows the government's announcement last year to amend the Local Autonomy Act Enforcement Decree, which upgraded the rank of deputy heads in basic local governments with populations under 50,000 to Deputy Director-General (Grade 3).
Deputy Governor Jeong, a native of Naju, began his public service career in Jangseong in 1991 and has since held key positions in Jeollanam-do, including the Department of Autonomous Administration, Department of Decentralization, and International Cooperation Office. He was promoted to Local Director in 2021, serving as Head of the Eastern Regional Headquarters, Director of Climate and Ecology, Director of Population and Youth Policy, and Chief of Staff in Jeollanam-do, before being appointed Deputy Governor of Damyang in January last year.
On the 11th, Deputy Governor Jeong received his appointment letter from Damyang County Governor Lee Byeongno and began his term as the county's first Grade 3 deputy governor.
Deputy Governor Jeong said, "I am grateful to the residents and public officials for giving me this honorable opportunity," and added, "With greater responsibilities entrusted to me, I will do my utmost to successfully address county affairs with a strong sense of duty."
