The Tourism Bureau of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications of Taiwan awarded this honor in recognition of the efforts made by the newly opened 'Taiwan Tourism Office in Busan' in November 2023 and BPA to revitalize international passenger and cruise traffic between Busan and Taiwan.
Last year, approximately 6,300 Taiwanese cruise tourists entered through Busan Port, and the Costa Serena, a cruise homeport product departing from Busan, primarily operates on the Korea-Japan-Taiwan route.
This year, BPA plans to strengthen its collaborative relationship with the 'Taiwan Tourism Office in Busan' by promoting and marketing international passenger ship products bound for Japan to Taiwanese tourists arriving in Busan to boost marine tourism through Busan Port.
Song Sang-geun, President of BPA, stated, “We will carefully monitor trends in the Northeast Asian international cruise market, including Taiwan, and make every effort to ensure there are no disruptions in attracting foreign tourists and operating passenger facilities.”
