Doctor and Nurse Home Visit Care... Yeongdeungpo-gu Supports Home Medical Care Choi Ho-gwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo District

Yeongdeungpo-gu (District Mayor Choi Ho-kwon) announced that, following last year, this year as well, elderly residents with mobility difficulties can receive medical services at home without being hospitalized or admitted to nursing facilities.

The "Long-term Care Home Medical Center Pilot Project" is a program where a team of doctors, nurses, and social workers visit the homes of long-term care insurance beneficiaries to provide medical treatment, nursing, and care services. The district has been operating this project for two consecutive years.

By using the Long-term Care Home Medical Center, elderly individuals who find it difficult to visit medical institutions can maintain their daily lives while receiving medical and welfare services at home.

The service targets long-term care home beneficiaries who have mobility difficulties and require home medical care. Interested households can apply to Woorine Han Clinic (located in Daerim-dong), the designated institution for the "Long-term Care Home Medical Center Pilot Project."

Last year, a 90-year-old elderly person who received home medical services was about to be hospitalized due to a pressure ulcer on the pelvis. However, with visits from the clinic’s doctor and nurse, the patient received acupuncture treatment and wound disinfection at home, resulting in the healing of the pressure ulcer.

Choi Ho-kwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo-gu, stated, "Elderly residents can comfortably receive medical services at home without hospitalization," and added, "We will take the lead in discovering various care services so that elderly residents can spend their later years healthily and happily."

Seongdong-gu (District Mayor Jung Won-oh) announced that it will fully operate the resident jury system in 2025 to monitor and evaluate the implementation of the 8th term pledge projects.

The resident jury system is designed to ensure objectivity and transparency in pledge implementation by having residents directly inspect and evaluate the progress.

The district, together with the Korea Manifesto Practice Headquarters, recruited applicants aged 18 and over living in Seongdong-gu through random selection via an automated response system (ARS) and telephone interviews. Considering age, gender, and region, a total of 35 residents were selected as resident jurors.

The first meeting of the resident jurors will be held on February 12 in the large auditorium on the 3rd floor of Seongdong-gu Office, followed by meetings on February 26 and March 12, for a total of three sessions. Through these meetings, resident jurors will propose adjustments and improvements to pledges and exercise voting rights for final approval.

At the first meeting, resident jurors will be appointed, receive manifesto education, and form subcommittees. The second meeting will include explanations of pledge projects by subcommittees, Q&A, and discussions. The third meeting will involve overall voting and evaluation based on subcommittee discussions. The final recommendations decided by the resident jury will be reviewed by the responsible departments and published on the Seongdong-gu Office website.

Seongdong-gu has received the highest rating three times (2015, 2019, 2023) in pledge implementation plan evaluations and the highest rating five times (2018, 2020?2022, 2024) in pledge implementation and information disclosure evaluations, achieving the highest grade (SA) for seven consecutive years across eight evaluations. As of December 2024, 216 out of 262 pledge projects for the 8th term have been implemented, marking an 82.4% implementation rate.

Jung Won-oh, Mayor of Seongdong-gu, said, "The appointed resident jurors represent all residents of Seongdong-gu and we hope they will objectively and transparently evaluate the pledge implementation," adding, "We will continue to do our best to fulfill these precious promises that must be kept for our residents."
