Tuesday the 11th is expected to be very cold in the morning, but temperatures are forecast to gradually rise from the afternoon.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, the morning low temperatures on the 11th are predicted to be between -13 and -1 degrees Celsius, with daytime highs ranging from 4 to 9 degrees Celsius. Morning temperatures will be 3 to 10 degrees lower than the average for this time of year (average lows -10 to 0 degrees, highs 3 to 9 degrees).
From the afternoon, temperatures will gradually increase, returning to average levels. A KMA official explained that this is due to the influence of a mobile high-pressure system moving eastward from the southern seas near Jeju.
Expected low temperatures in major cities are ▲Seoul -5°C ▲Incheon -3°C ▲Chuncheon -13°C ▲Gangneung -4°C ▲Daejeon -7°C ▲Daegu -7°C ▲Jeonju -5°C ▲Gwangju -4°C ▲Busan -1°C ▲Jeju 2°C. Snow accumulation is present in the central region, Jeolla area, some inland western Gyeongsang, and Jeju Island, with many places experiencing icy roads and black ice, so caution is advised for traffic safety.
The nationwide weather will be mostly clear, but clouds will gradually increase from night. Rain is expected late at night along the western coast of Jeollanam-do and Jeju Island.
Fine dust levels are expected to be 'Good' to 'Moderate' nationwide. However, the Seoul metropolitan area and Chungcheong region may experience temporarily 'Unhealthy' levels at night.
From dawn to morning, dense fog with visibility under 200 meters is expected in southern Chungcheongnam-do, Jeonbuk, and inland Jeollanam-do, with other areas experiencing fog reducing visibility to less than 1 kilometer.
In the East Sea central offshore and northern outer southern East Sea, winds will blow very strongly at 30 to 60 km/h until the morning, with very high waves.
Sea waves will be 0.5 to 1.5 meters in the East Sea nearshore, and 0.5 to 1.0 meters in the nearshore areas of the West Sea and South Sea. Wave heights in the inner offshore areas (within approximately 200 km from the coastline) are expected to be 1.0 to 3.5 meters in the East Sea and 0.5 to 2.0 meters in the West Sea and South Sea.
