High Pathogenic Avian Influenza Confirmed at Kimje Laying Hen Farm

The Central Accident Response Headquarters for Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza announced on the 10th that H5N1 highly pathogenic avian influenza (AI) was confirmed at a layer farm located in Gimje-si, Jeonbuk. This is the 35th confirmed case at poultry farms nationwide during the 2024-2025 winter season.

The response headquarters is implementing quarantine measures including access control, culling, and epidemiological investigation. A temporary 24-hour movement suspension order has been issued for layer chicken farms, related facilities, and vehicles in Gimje-si and six adjacent cities and counties.
