March to December... Promoting Consumption of Local Agricultural Products
Wanju County in North Jeolla Province will begin accepting applications for this year's Agri-food Voucher Support Program starting from the 17th.
According to the county on the 10th, this support program has been implemented to strengthen food accessibility for vulnerable groups and to promote the consumption of local agricultural products.
The eligible recipients are households receiving livelihood benefits (with a standard median income of 32% or less) with pregnant women, infants, or children under the age of 18. The program provides differentiated support according to the number of household members: KRW 40,000 per month for single-person households and KRW 100,000 per month for four-person households. The support period is ten months, from March to December.
The voucher is provided in the form of an electronic card that can be used to purchase fresh agricultural products such as domestically produced vegetables, fruits, meat, grains, and tofu. It can be used at local food direct stores, Nonghyup Hanaro Mart, and other designated locations.
Applications can be submitted by visiting the local administrative welfare center according to the applicant's registered address, online, or through the Agri-food Voucher Customer Support Center ARS phone service.
The county will verify the eligibility of applicants based on their application details, promptly review whether they meet the support criteria, and finalize the recipients for payment starting next month.
An Hyungsuk, Head of the Regional Vitality Division, stated, "We expect that this Agri-food Voucher Support Program will help support healthy diets for low-income groups and contribute to the promotion of local agricultural product consumption," adding, "We will ensure thorough preparation so that the program operates smoothly."
