A fire broke out at around 2:21 a.m. on the 10th at a wooden box manufacturing and packaging factory in Hallim-myeon, Gimhae-si, Gyeongnam.
According to the Gyeongnam Fire Headquarters, the fire completely burned down the factory building and office building, as well as one 3-ton forklift, three wood cutting machines, two dust collectors, and office equipment in the office building.
The fire caused property damage estimated by the fire station at about 145 million won, but there were no casualties.
The dispatched fire authorities mobilized 80 personnel and 28 pieces of equipment, extinguishing the main fire by 3:05 a.m. and completing the extinguishing by 6:38 a.m.
Analysis of the on-site closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage and on-site investigation revealed that the fire started in the left office on the first floor of the office building.
The fire authorities plan to conduct a joint investigation with the police to determine the exact cause of the fire.
