Honam University announced on the 10th that Professor Baek Ran from the College of AI Convergence delivered a special lecture on "The Future of AI and Architectural Design" at the Winter Workshop of Dankook University's Graduate School of ICT Convergence Earthquake-Resistant and High-Rise Engineering.
At the workshop held from the 6th to the 8th, Professor Baek gave a lecture to about 80 master's and doctoral experts in the field of architectural design on the topic "AI Opening the Future of Structural Design: What We Really Need to Know."
Professor Baek focused on practical content that can be immediately applied in the field, such as ▲innovative changes that AI technology will bring to architectural design ▲ways to utilize generative AI in architectural design and case studies of applying machine learning technology to structural analysis. She demonstrated a structural design chatbot to help field experts experience increased efficiency in repetitive tasks.
Professor Baek repeatedly emphasized that "AI technology is now an essential tool in the field of architectural design," adding, "The role of AI will become even more important in the process of structural analysis and design optimization," and stressed the necessity of adopting AI in architecture.
A structural design expert who attended the special lecture said, "I discovered great potential in the fact that AI technology can drastically reduce repetitive drawing tasks and structural design analysis," adding, "It is very encouraging to gain practical solutions that can be immediately applied in the field."
