A total of 76 crop items covered
Apply for insurance at local or horticultural Nonghyup during the subscription period
Ulsan Ulju-gun is expanding support for crop disaster insurance premium subsidies to reduce the burden on farmers and agricultural corporations facing difficulties due to natural disasters such as typhoons and abnormal low temperatures.
This year's budget for the crop disaster insurance premium subsidy project is 2.302 billion KRW (city and county funds), with a support ratio of 50% national funds (direct support), 20% city funds, and 25% county funds. Among these, a portion of the farmers' share, excluding government subsidies, will be additionally supported by county funds, so farmers only need to bear 5% of the total insurance premium.
The crop disaster insurance covers a total of 76 crop items (such as apples, pears, rice, and facility crops).
The subscription period varies by item throughout the year: four types of fruit trees (apple, pear, persimmon, astringent persimmon) can be insured in February; agricultural facilities and facility crops (watermelon, strawberry, cucumber, tomato, etc.) can be insured from February to November; and rice can be insured from April to July.
For more details, contact the nearest local Nonghyup, horticultural Nonghyup, or NH Nonghyup Insurance.
An official from Ulju-gun stated, “We ask farmers to actively subscribe to crop disaster insurance so that the expanded support for insurance premiums can reduce farmers' burdens and enable stable farming activities in preparation for natural disasters.”
