The 'AHR Expo' is the largest exhibition in the HVAC field hosted by the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE). More than 1,800 global companies participate to showcase the latest products and technologies.
Samsung Electronics will set up a 350㎡ (about 100 pyeong) booth at this exhibition to present home and commercial HVAC solutions such as the high-efficiency hybrid inverter outdoor unit 'Hylex R454B,' the residential heat pump 'EHS,' and the high-efficiency system air conditioner R32 'DVM' lineup.
In particular, Samsung Electronics will showcase a differentiated solution by exhibiting the high-efficiency hybrid Hylex outdoor unit, which is highly compatible with indoor units and easy to install, to newly target the North American residential unitary market. The Hylex outdoor unit allows the use of existing refrigerant piping and wiring during product replacement and supports connection of various pipe sizes, enhancing installation convenience and reducing costs. Residential unitary products are a North America-specific HVAC method used in houses or small to medium-sized buildings, implementing cooling by blowing cold air through ducts.
Samsung Electronics will also exhibit the 'ClimateHub Mono,' an EHS product equipped with a dedicated 200L water tank, the compact wall-mounted indoor unit 'Hydro Unit Mono,' and the 'Mono R32 HT Quiet' outdoor unit. The residential heat pump EHS is a solution applied to floor heating and hot water supply, producing hot water using air heat and electricity, which is more efficient and generates less carbon than boilers using fossil fuels.
Additionally, the exhibition will feature a commercial DVM large-capacity system air conditioner applying R32 refrigerant, which has a global warming potential (GWP) about 32% that of the existing R410A refrigerant. There will also be an exhibition zone introducing the device experience through the Wind-Free air conditioner lineup and SmartThings connectivity.
Choi Hyang-seok, Executive Vice President of Samsung Electronics' DA Division, said, "Samsung Electronics has introduced innovative HVAC solutions combining unparalleled technology and SmartThings connectivity experience. We will continue to actively target the global HVAC market, including North America."
LG Electronics is targeting the North American HVAC market by showcasing customized HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) solutions ranging from industrial to residential use at 'AHR EXPO 2025,' the largest HVAC exhibition in North America, held in Orlando, USA, from the 10th to the 12th. LG Electronics will also showcase a large number of high-efficiency HVAC products.
LG Electronics has prepared a total exhibition space of 646㎡ (about 195 pyeong), expanded by 73㎡ compared to last year, aiming to capture visitors' attention with an exhibition emphasizing its 'CoreTech' technology. The exhibition space is designed to allow intuitive viewing of the internal structure and key components of the products.
LG Electronics is competing in the global HVAC market recently led by products such as 'Chillers.' Chillers have gained attention as the importance of thermal management solutions increases with the expansion of AI infrastructure investments by big tech companies. Chillers are HVAC solutions tailored for large-scale cooling and heating demand sites such as AI data centers, large buildings, and factories.
In particular, the exhibition will introduce the 'oil-free inverter turbo chiller,' which does not use lubricating oil on the motor shaft. The oil-free inverter turbo chiller applies magnetic bearing technology that levitates and rotates the compressor motor shaft at high speed using electromagnetic force, reducing friction loss and improving energy efficiency.
LG Electronics will also showcase an 'inverter heat pump' lineup designed considering the diverse climates across the United States. The inverter heat pump is a high-efficiency product certified by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's ENERGY STAR®. Considering the North American residential environment with many detached houses with spacious ceiling spaces, it is a residential cooling and heating solution using a ducted unitary method that meets various local customer needs.
There is also the 'residential cold climate heat pump,' which won the '2025 AHR Innovation Award' in the sustainable solutions category. It maintains stable heating performance even at minus 35 degrees Celsius and maximizes heating efficiency by preventing outdoor unit condensate freezing through optimized refrigerant cycle technology. LG Electronics is conducting research and development on heat pump technology that delivers high performance even in extreme cold, operating research centers in Alaska, USA; Oslo, Norway; and Harbin, China.
Starting this year, some regions in the U.S., including California, prohibit the use of refrigerants with a global warming potential (GWP) above 750, and LG Electronics will introduce products that comply with this regulation. The exhibition will feature products such as the 'inverter scroll chiller' and 'Multi V i' applying R32 refrigerant, which has about 30% lower GWP than the existing R410A refrigerant.
Lee Jae-sung, Vice President and Head of LG Electronics' ES Business Division, said, "We will accelerate B2B business with various space- and climate-customized HVAC solutions, including chillers that are gaining attention as thermal management solutions for AI data centers, and expand our influence in the global HVAC market."
