'Lotte Mart Cheonho Branch, 3 Weeks After Opening, Ranks 1st in Sales per Square Meter Among 111 Stores'

Opened as a Grocery Specialty Store on the 16th of Last Month
First New Store in Six Years
Sales About 70% Higher Than Stores Under 2,000 Pyeong

Lotte Mart announced on the 10th that its Cheonho branch, which opened on the 16th of last month, ranked first in sales per square meter among 111 stores nationwide in just about three weeks.


The Cheonho branch is a new store established by Lotte Mart after six years. With the concept of an urban practical grocery store focusing on the essence of groceries, it built a highly convenient shopping environment centered on differentiated food content through thorough commercial area analysis. It consists solely of directly managed stores without tenant (rental) spaces, and although it is a compact store with a sales area of 4,538㎡ (about 1,374 pyeong), roughly half the size of a typical large supermarket, 80% of the sales floor is dedicated to groceries.

According to Lotte Mart, from the opening until the 5th, the sales of the Cheonho branch over three weeks were more than 70% higher than the average sales of 28 stores under 6,600㎡ (about 2,000 pyeong), and the number of visitors was over 60% higher. The company analyzed that this was mainly due to the specialized store layout focusing on ready-to-eat foods and convenience meals tailored to the nearby commercial area with a high proportion of people in their 30s and single-person households.


At the store entrance, the 27-meter-long 'Long Deli Road' offers 50% more ready-to-eat products than regular stores, providing customers with a wide variety of choices. Accordingly, the sales composition ratio of ready-to-eat foods at the Cheonho branch significantly exceeds the average of all stores. In particular, the 'Yorihada World Buffet' products, which include about 60 items covering Japanese, Chinese, Western, and Asian cuisines sold at prices ranging from 3,000 to 4,000 KRW, are receiving a positive response.


The frozen convenience food specialty store 'Daily Meal Solution' is also driving performance. This section sells over 500 frozen convenience food items, more than 70% higher than regular stores. Additionally, it operates about 30 exclusive products, providing a differentiated shopping experience. The frozen food sales at the Cheonho branch rank among the top in Lotte Mart.


Lotte Mart Cheonho branch will hold a customer appreciation discount event for one week from the 13th to the 19th. Featured products include 'Seolhyang Strawberries (500g/pack/Korean)' priced at 5,990 KRW and 'Grade 1+ Eggs (Special grade/30 pieces/Korean)' limited to 500 trays per day at 4,990 KRW. Blueberries, cleaned squid, Korean beef sirloin, and other highly preferred products will also be offered at ultra-low prices through daily special sales events.


Na Geuntae, the manager of Lotte Mart Cheonho branch, said, "The successful establishment of the Cheonho branch was mainly due to the implementation of a food-specialized store with expertise based on thorough commercial area analysis and a highly convenient shopping environment." He added, "We will continue to prioritize realizing customer value by consistently offering differentiated products and services, making this the number one shopping destination representing the Gangdong area."
