Hyundai Wia announced on the 10th that it held the '2025 Partnership Day' at Haevichi Hotel & Resort in Seogwipo, Jeju Island on the 7th and 8th, where it unveiled this year's key initiatives and plans for operating the win-win growth program. Partnership Day is an event where Hyundai Wia shares its management vision with major partners, with a total of 122 partner companies participating.
At the management vision presentation, Jeong Jae-wook, President of Hyundai Wia, revealed plans to strengthen technological competitiveness, including an integrated thermal management system. The priority is to focus on preparing the air conditioning module for electric vehicles, which will begin mass production in the second half of this year, without any setbacks. This module is scheduled to be installed in Kia's PV5. Hyundai Wia plans to expand the market through the 'integrated thermal management system,' which combines battery and motor thermal management modules with the air conditioning module. They also presented plans to strengthen sales targeting global automakers, focusing on constant velocity joints and all-wheel-drive components.
Regarding quality, Hyundai Wia decided to actively respond from the early stages to ensure complete customer satisfaction. Additionally, they will review the profitability at each stage of all products and secure cost competitiveness to significantly enhance profitability.
Hyundai Wia considers coexistence with partner companies as the foundation for sustainable growth. Accordingly, they will expand the operation of the win-win growth fund to enable partners to increase new investments. The win-win growth fund is a system that supports loans to partner companies at low interest rates based on deposits from financial institutions. This year, the program will operate for 90 companies, more than 10% higher than last year.
They will also support partners in export and import operations by helping them obtain the Korea Customs Service's 'Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) certification.' The AEO certification is a system where the Korea Customs Service selects excellent companies based on the World Customs Organization (WCO) export-import safety management standards to secure export-import competitiveness. Hyundai Wia has supported six partner companies in obtaining AEO certification from 2023 through last year.
Furthermore, Hyundai Wia will jointly address the increasing importance of safety and security with its partners. They will conduct 'risk assessments' for partner companies and provide safety and health capability consulting. Using the 'Experiential Safety Education Center S+,' which opened last year at Hyundai Wia's Changwon Plant 1 in Changwon, Gyeongnam, they will conduct safety education for about 500 partner companies. Alongside this, Hyundai Wia will support the establishment of partner information asset management policies to prevent the leakage of core technologies externally and will regularly conduct technology security inspections.
A Hyundai Wia official said, "We will actively respond to the rapidly changing mobility era by growing together with our partners," adding, "We will work together to create a sustainable Hyundai Wia."
