Im Sung-jae showed strong finishing power on Moving Day.

On the 8th (local time), at TPC Scottsdale (Par 71, 7,261 yards) in Phoenix, Arizona, USA, during the third round of the PGA Tour WM Phoenix Open (total prize money $9.2 million), he shot a 4-under-par 67 to climb up to a tie for 19th place (8-under-par 205). Thomas Detry (Belgium) led by 5 strokes (18-under-par 195), while Jordan Spieth and Daniel Berger (both USA) were tied for second place (13-under-par 200).


Starting from a tie for 34th, Im Sung-jae recorded one eagle, four birdies, and two bogeys. After back-to-back birdies on holes 13 and 15, he eagled the 17th hole (par 4), reducing four strokes in the front nine. In the back nine, he exchanged two birdies for two bogeys to finish the round. His putting average per hole was 1.36 (1st place), and his bunker save rate was 100% (tied 1st), which powered his performance.


Detry surged with a 6-under-par round to maintain his position at the top of the leaderboard. Ranked 58th in the world, he has yet to win on the PGA Tour. Two runner-up finishes are his best career results. World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler (USA) added 3-under-par to finish the third round tied for 10th place (10-under-par 203). Kim Joo-hyung lost one stroke and slipped to a tie for 19th. Kim Si-woo was tied for 39th (6-under-par 207), Lee Kyung-hoon tied for 59th (2-under-par 211), and An Byeong-hun remained in 76th place (1-over-par 214).
