Debut at Riyadh Event Ends with 1 Over Par in Final Round
Finishes in Lower Ranks Among 54 Participants
Meronk Wins; Rahm and Munoz Share Second Place
Jang Yu-bin, who dominated last year's Korea Professional Golfers' Association (KPGA) Tour, finished in the lower ranks in his LIV Golf debut.
On the 8th (local time), at the Riyadh Golf Club (par 72) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Jang lost one stroke in the third round of the LIV Golf season opener, the Riyadh event (total prize money $25 million), dropping from a tie for 46th place the previous day to a tie for 49th place (even par 216). Although he made four birdies, he also committed five bogeys. Jang Yu-bin transferred to LIV Golf after sweeping major categories such as prize money, points, and average score on last year's KPGA Tour. A total of 54 players participated in this tournament, playing stroke play over three days.
Adrian Meronk (Poland) added one under par to complete a wire-to-wire victory (17 under par 199). He has won four times on the DP World Tour and moved to LIV Golf last year. Claiming his first win on the new stage, he received a winner's prize of $4 million (approximately 5.8 billion KRW). Jon Rahm (Spain) and Sebasti?n Mu?oz (Colombia) tied for second place (15 under par 201).
The team event was won by Legion13, captained by Rahm. They received a total of $2,625,000 (approximately 3.8 billion KRW), including $1,875,000 for the individual second-place prize and $750,000 for the team victory. The second LIV Golf event will be held from the 14th in Adelaide, Australia.
