Lee Nahyun (Korea National Sport University) won the gold medal at the 2025 Harbin Winter Asian Games.
On the 8th, Lee Nahyun claimed the gold medal in the women's 100m speed skating event held at the Heilongjiang Skating Training Center Oval in Harbin, China, with a time of 10.501 seconds.
Kim Minseon (Uijeongbu City Hall), who also competed, recorded a time of 10.505 seconds and took the silver medal. The difference between Lee Nahyun and Kim Minseon was only 0.004 seconds.
The 100m speed skating event is an unfamiliar discipline not held in the Olympics or the International Skating Union (ISU) World Cup. The host country, China, included this event as an official competition this time, favoring their own skaters who have strong starts.
Starting eighth out of nine heats, Lee Nahyun quickly surged forward at the starting signal.
Lee Nahyun powerfully sprinted down the 100m straight track and took first place in the intermediate rankings with a time of 10.50 seconds.
Satisfied with her record, Lee Nahyun waved her hands and smiled brightly.
Following her, Kim Minseon started in the final heat and raced across the ice.
Kim Minseon's time was also displayed as 10.50 seconds on the scoreboard. However, after measuring to the thousandth of a second, Lee Nahyun finished with 10.501 seconds and Kim Minseon with 10.505 seconds, resulting in a mere 0.004-second difference that determined the medal colors for the two athletes.
