Busan Gijang-gun announced on the 7th that from the 8th, ‘Haeundae Beach CC’ and ‘Haeundae Beach Public Golf Club’ located in Gijang-eup will offer discount benefits to Gijang residents.

The county signed a ‘Gijang Residents Golf Course Usage Fee Discount Agreement’ with Haeundae Beach Golf & Resort and HB Comprehensive Leisure Sports based on this content.

The agreement mainly provides a 10,000 KRW discount on golf course usage fees for Gijang residents (with ID) regardless of weekdays or weekends, and includes provisions to mutually negotiate adjustments to the discount rate if the proportion of Gijang residents among golf course users exceeds an annual average of 30%.

Additionally, the county will provide administrative support for the popularization of golf and closely cooperate for mutual growth and regional development.

So far, Gijang-gun has continuously strived to offer residents opportunities to enjoy golf at affordable costs and to promote leisure activities and the popularization of golf. Starting with the 2023 agreement with Haeundae CC Golf Course (located in Byeongsan-ri, Jeonggwan-eup), efforts to expand discount agreements for residents have led to this recent agreement.

In particular, the active efforts of the Gijang-gun Golf Association (President Kang Young-il) were behind this agreement. The association played a role in facilitating communication between the county and the golf courses during slow progress in negotiations.

Park Ho-sung, CEO of Haeundae Beach Golf & Resort, said, "We signed this agreement to help Gijang residents and the local community," adding, "We will gladly participate in any future opportunities that contribute to regional development."

County Governor Jeong Jong-bok expressed gratitude to Haeundae Beach Golf & Resort and HB Comprehensive Leisure Sports for joining the business agreement for regional coexistence, saying, "I hope this agreement will serve as an opportunity to enhance the welfare of Gijang residents and revitalize the local economy."

Gijang-gun plans to continue discussions with the remaining four local golf courses to expand the discount agreement golf courses. Through this, it is expected to contribute to the healthy leisure life of local residents and have positive effects in various areas such as hosting golf-related events and revitalizing the local economy.
