2025 Global Innovation Challenge
Citi Foundation to Provide $25 Million in Support for Youth Employment Programs
Korea Citibank and the Citi Foundation announced on the 7th that they are launching the application process for the ‘2025 Global Innovation Challenge’ program.
Started in 2023, this program is a social contribution initiative by the Citi Foundation that provides funding to nonprofit organizations to address social issues. This year, it is designed with the goal of improving youth employment problems.
Through this call for applications, the Citi Foundation will select 50 nonprofit organizations and provide each with $500,000 (approximately 724 million KRW), totaling $25 million in support. The selected organizations will use the funds to operate various employment support programs such as job skill enhancement, retraining, entrepreneurship support, and financial education for low-income youth.
In last year’s program, Korea Habitat was selected. They operated a child-safe housing program that improved the living conditions of housing-poor children’s families in Korea, including psychological counseling and economic education.
The deadline for application registration for this call is 2 a.m. on the 5th of next month. Detailed information on eligibility requirements and target regions can be found on the Citi Foundation website.
Ed Skyler, Chairman of the Board of the Citi Foundation, said, “Citi and the Citi Foundation have long supported various solutions to expand employment opportunities for youth, from technical education to job linkage programs, achieving many results through these efforts. However, youth employment remains a critical issue, and continuous efforts are necessary. Through this Global Innovation Challenge, Citi will take a further step toward solving youth employment problems and continue supporting sustainable local communities.”
