DH Autoware "Zi, AI-Based High-Performance Inspection Equipment Development... Discussions on Supplying to Global OEM Tier 1 Vendors"

DH Autoware's wholly owned subsidiary, 'DH AutoEye,' announced on the 7th that it is developing vision inspection equipment incorporating AI deep learning technology and is currently in supply negotiations with a first-tier vendor of a global automaker. This equipment combines high-performance camera-based vision detection technology with AI deep learning to detect defects in the automobile production process.

In the existing automobile welding process, defects were detected through cameras based on standardized criteria without AI technology. As a result, process efficiency declined due to increased defect rates, leading to many demands for improvement. At the customer's request, DH AutoEye developed AI vision inspection equipment based on its proprietary high-performance camera technology.

DH AutoEye built an AI model capable of recognizing complex patterns and defects by learning from large volumes of image data and applied it to the vision inspection equipment. This technology can be applied not only to welding defect inspection in the automotive industry but also to various other industries, such as detecting soldering defects on circuit boards in electronics and irregularities in pill size and shape in the pharmaceutical industry.

DH AutoEye's AI-based vision inspection technology can also be applied to detailed quality inspections, such as detecting complex packaging printing errors. DH AutoEye is preparing to expand the application of this technology beyond manufacturing process automation to safety fields like fire detection.

A DH AutoEye representative stated, “This AI inspection equipment was developed using DH AutoEye's proprietary high-performance camera technology and AI deep learning technology, and it is significant in enabling precise inspections that surpass the limitations of existing inspection processes,” adding, “We will actively pursue sales activities to expand this equipment across the industry.”

He continued, “Inspection equipment based on AI technology is evaluated as a product group capable of creating high added value,” and said, “We will accelerate the increase in the company's sales and profits through high-value products and maximize the company's future value through business diversification.”
