Baemin Sells Traditional Market Specialty Products Nationwide

Special Exhibition of Traditional Market Collaboration Products in 'Jeon-guk Byeolmi'
First Achievement of Co-Prosperity Agreement with Win-Win Growth Committee and Others

Baedal Minjok is set to showcase a large number of specialized products developed in collaboration with famous traditional markets nationwide.

Woowa Brothers, the operator of Baemin, announced on the 7th that they will sell gift sets and meal kits developed in cooperation with cooperatives of famous traditional markets across the country through the ‘Jeon-guk Byeolmi’ category within the Baemin app.

Jeon-guk Byeolmi is a category that sells representative local delicacies from seasonal foods to regional specialties and unique gourmet dishes. Baemin not only discovers products but also supports local small business owners by developing specialized products such as meal kits in collaboration with them.

Baemin Sells Traditional Market Specialty Products Nationwide

This sales initiative is the first result of the ‘Win-Win Agreement for Regional Community Co-Prosperity’ signed in June last year by Woowa Brothers, the Win-Win Growth Committee, and the National Merchants Federation. Baemin developed regional specialty products after more than six months of effort with cooperatives from traditional markets such as Seogwipo Hyangto Oil Market and Daegu Waryong Market. They participated in the entire process, including menu selection, supply pricing consulting, design, sample testing, ordering, store onboarding, and sales support.

On the 7th, sales of eight types of meal kits developed in collaboration with Daegu Waryong Market began. Taking advantage of the fact that many stores supply high-quality chicken at affordable prices to Daegu Waryong Market, meal kits using chicken as the main ingredient were developed, fully reflecting the market’s characteristics. Additionally, local dialects and regional landmarks were used in the packaging design.

Collaboration with Seogwipo Hyangto Oil Market continues as well. Following the launch of three gift sets in January, Baemin plans to sequentially support the sale of five meal kits made with main ingredients such as Jeju silver cutlassfish, black pork, okdom (tilefish), and abalone. The packaging was designed incorporating Jeju local dialect and symbols such as Hallasan and Dol hareubang.

Kim Junghyun, Head of Value Management at Woowa Brothers, said, “As a result of the win-win agreement, we were able to create a win-win model not only by jointly developing regional specialty products but also by collaborating on sales. We will continue to create exemplary cases by cooperating with various traditional markets to develop local specialties and support their distribution channels.”
