Gyeonggi Office of Education to Cut 67.4 Billion Won in Unnecessary Budget Expenses

The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education is actively promoting expenditure budget reductions to efficiently execute the budget under a sound fiscal policy.

The Office announced on the 6th that it plans to first reduce 10% of the current expenses within the special education fund and identify cost-saving factors in all projects, aiming to save a total of 67.4 billion KRW this year.

Despite difficult financial conditions such as ongoing uncertainty in revenue conditions and steady increases in fixed expenses, the Office will prioritize reducing current expenses.

Additionally, the budget allocation for the cost-saving target amount will be withheld to prevent execution, and further cost-saving factors, such as managing bid price differences, will be identified during future project implementation.

The Office plans to focus the resources secured through these measures on future education in Gyeonggi to steadily advance Gyeonggi education.

Gal In-seok, the budget officer of the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education, stated, "We will proactively respond to difficult financial conditions and reinvest in future education to steadily promote Gyeonggi education," adding, "We will enhance sound fiscal management and budget execution efficiency through expenditure budget reductions."
