Damyang County in Jeollanam-do (Governor Lee Byeongno) has achieved significant results by deploying professional athletes to improve the efficient operation of the Dambit Swimming Pool, including workforce and expenditure management and the development of lesson programs.

By analyzing the swimming pool's organizational structure and workforce demand, staff shifts were flexibly adjusted to optimize the organization and improve management balance. Through benchmarking, operating hours were analyzed and water purification time was reduced to once per day, increasing the available time for pool users.

To further enhance customer satisfaction, new programs such as small-group lessons, survival swimming, and aqua aerobics were introduced. In particular, the survival swimming program was conducted with 1,781 children from 10 elementary schools in the area, and 46 people obtained professional lifeguard certifications through specialized training.

Additionally, various benefits such as discounted rates for those using both the gym and swimming pool have been well received by residents.

Thanks to these efforts, the number of members last year increased by 2,291 (22%) to 12,946 compared to 10,655 in 2023, and revenue grew by 28% (112,748,000 KRW).

Governor Lee Byeongno stated, "The improvements in the operation of Dambit Swimming Pool have increased resident satisfaction and, with the rise in revenue, are helping the county's challenging finances. We will continue to develop new programs that will attract residents' interest to further promote usage and health."

Meanwhile, Dambit Swimming Pool, which opened in June 2018, is loved by residents for its facilities that allow people of all ages to enjoy swimming and water activities, including an adult pool, a children's pool, and a temperature-maintenance pool. Dambit Gym, which opened in 2022, is equipped with 34 pieces of exercise equipment including treadmills, playing a significant role in promoting residents' health.
