Gwangju City Council held the first meeting of the Special Committee for the Personnel Hearing of the Chairman of the Gwangju Credit Guarantee Foundation on the morning of the 4th, appointing Councilor Park Sugi as the chairman and Councilor Lee Myungno as the vice chairman, officially commencing its activities. On the 4th, the Gwangju Metropolitan Council completed the appointment of members for the Special Personnel Hearing Committee for the Chairman of the Gwangju Credit Guarantee Foundation (hereinafter referred to as Gwangju Shinbo) and officially began its activities.
Park Sugi was appointed as the chairperson of the committee, with Lee Myeongno as vice-chairperson. The committee members include Kang Suhun, Shim Cheolui, Lee Gwisun, Lim Miran, and Cho Seokho.
Gwangju Shinbo was established in March 2000 under the Regional Credit Guarantee Foundation Act to guarantee the debts of local small business owners who lack collateral, thereby contributing to the revitalization of the local economy and the improvement of public welfare. Currently, it is a representative funded organization of Gwangju City, operating with 2 headquarters, 6 branches, and 62 employees.
Chairperson Park Sugi stated, "Gwangju Shinbo is an institution that supports the stability and growth of small businesses and small business owners by guaranteeing their debts," emphasizing, "With the current high inflation and economic downturn, small businesses and small business owners are facing difficulties, making the foundation's role more important than ever."
He added, "The chairman must have a strong sense of duty and responsibility and should be someone who can serve as a driving force for regional development," and continued, "We will thoroughly verify the candidate's qualifications, capabilities, and integrity in a comprehensive manner."
Meanwhile, the committee plans to request relevant materials for the personnel hearing and conduct the hearing in March, after the final candidate is selected through a public recruitment announcement and interview screening.
