Gwangju Dong-gu (District Mayor Lim Taek) announced on the 4th that it was selected as an excellent institution in the "2024 Local Government Autonomous Internal Control Operation Evaluation" organized by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, and received a commendation from the Minister of the Interior and Safety.

Autonomous internal control is a system designed to prevent errors, irregularities, and corruption in administrative processes in advance.

The purpose is to realize trustworthy administration by enhancing transparency and legality through the "Cheongbaek-e" system, which monitors administrative information systems, a self-diagnosis system where staff check their own work, and a public official self-management system that quantifies and manages integrity activities.

This evaluation was conducted for metropolitan and basic local governments nationwide, divided into two categories: internal control operation and internal control activation.

Dong-gu received high marks for its prompt monitoring through the "Cheongbaek-e" system and systematic administrative management, and was recognized for significantly contributing to enhancing trust in district administration and spreading a culture of integrity.

In addition, Dong-gu made efforts to prevent administrative errors and block corruption factors in advance through thorough monitoring of the Cheongbaek-e system, discovering and utilizing new self-diagnosis checklists, self-checks of integrity activities, and operating internal control education and committees.

In particular, by discovering new self-diagnosis checklists for all employees and conducting self-checks, Dong-gu achieved a 100% management rate of individual ethical activity performance, taking the lead in realizing transparent and clean administration.

Lim Taek, Mayor of Dong-gu, said, "This commendation for autonomous internal control is the result of all public officials striving for transparent and responsible administration," and added, "We will continue to further develop the autonomous internal control system to provide transparent and clean administration that residents can trust."
