Singer Beyonc? (44) has won the Grammy Awards' top honor, 'Album of the Year,' for the first time in her career.
On the 2nd (local time), Beyonc? received the Album of the Year award at the 67th Grammy Awards held at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles (LA), USA, for her eighth studio album, "Cowboy Carter." "Cowboy Carter" was nominated in 11 categories, including the three major general fields (main awards) such as Album of the Year and Song of the Year.
Previously, Beyonc? had been nominated 99 times at the Grammy Awards and won 32 trophies, making her the most awarded artist in history. Although she won Song of the Year in 2010 for "Single Ladies," she had not won in major categories before. On this day, she added Best Country Album and Best Country Duo/Group Performance awards, achieving a total of 35 Grammy wins. This marks the first time a Black artist has won Best Country Album since the category was established in 1964.
Kendrick Lamar won Record of the Year for "Not Like Us." "Not Like Us" was created to diss fellow rapper Drake, and it is the first diss track to win in this category. Lamar was nominated in seven categories, including Song of the Year and Best Rap Song. Previously, Lamar had boycotted the 2021 ceremony citing unfairness, and this was his first time back on stage in four years to receive an award.

The Best New Artist award, equivalent to New Artist of the Year, went to Chapel Ron for the song "Good Luck Babe!" On stage, Ron said, "If I win a Grammy, I want to tell the label industry to find ways to support new artists," and urged, "Please treat and protect singers with care."
Jimmy Carter, the 39th President of the United States, won Best Spoken Word Album for "The Last Sundays in Plains: 100th Anniversary Edition." His grandson Jason Carter attended the ceremony and accepted the award on his behalf. This is the fourth time former President Jimmy Carter has won in this category, following his wins in 2007 for "Our Values at Risk: America's Moral Crisis," 2016 for "A Full Life: Reflections at Ninety," and 2019 for "Faith: A Journey for All."
The Grammy Awards are the most prestigious awards ceremony in the popular music industry, hosted by the Recording Academy in the United States.
