Last year, the city provided 750 million KRW in interest subsidies to 102 companies. This year, the city plans to support local SMEs facing management crises due to the domestic market downturn and respond to the growing demand for loan support by offering 600 million KRW in interest subsidies for a total loan amount of 20 billion KRW.

Applications will be accepted until funds are exhausted. Preferred companies, such as those that have received the Gwangyang City CEO Award, Best Worker Award, Industrial Peace Award, or are women-owned businesses, can receive a 4% interest subsidy.

Companies wishing to apply should visit one of the 10 branches of the 7 financial institutions partnered with Gwangyang City for a preliminary loan consultation, then submit the loan application form, including a business plan and financial statements from the past two years, to the city.

Jung Haejong, head of the Investment and Economy Division, said, "We hope that the Gwangyang City SME Development Loan Interest Subsidy Support Project will help stabilize the management of local SMEs struggling due to the domestic market downturn," and added, "We will continue to seek various support measures so that the city and local businesses can achieve mutual growth."
